Documentation
The EPM11-FPGA example project on Github provides a great overview of setting up the FPGA build prerequisites and environment, as well as building and programming the FPGA example project to the board.
A EPM11-MCU example project on Github that provides a custom, board-specific MicroPython image is coming soon! See ‘Section 6’ of the Datasheet below for instructions on flashing a custom MicroPython image to the EPM11.

Third-Party
The EPM11 has been proven compatible with the following third-party tools:
| Tool | Summary | Licensing |
|---|---|---|
| Apio | Apio is a Python-based tool that controls other low-level tools, such as yosys, nextpnr, icepack, and iceprog. It’s designed to work with development boards. It is cross-platform, offering a Visual Studio plugin on Windows and a CLI on Linux. | GPL 3.0 |
| openFPGALoader | Universal utility for programming FPGAs | Apache License 2.0 |
| openOCD | Software that enables on-chip debugging, in-system programming, and boundary-scan testing for embedded devices | GPLv2+ |
| fpgacapZero | Vendor-agnostic FPGA debug cores, including an Embedded Logic Analyzer (ELA) for waveform capture and an Embedded I/O (EIO) for runtime read/write of fabric signals | Apache License 2.0 |
